Moscow- Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his State of the Nation Address before the Russian Federal Assembly, announced that the Russian military has developed a new series of nuclear weapons; among those revealed are reported hypersonic weapons, a potential geopolitical game-changer. Putin promises that Russia's new missiles will stay close to the ground and travel too quickly for ground defenses to react.

"Russian statements threatening to target allies are unacceptable and counterproductive", North Atlantic Treaty Organisation spokesperson Oana Lungescu said in a statement. This only makes it clearer that President Trump's 2018 Nuclear Posture Review is correct: "we must take steps to bolster the USA nuclear deterrent to deter adversaries and reassure allies", said Rogers. "Russia has been, is and will remain committed to all of its global obligations".

"Russia is not going to be pulled into any arms race".

Vladimir Putin devoted over a third of his annual state-of-the-nation speech to revealing a series of new weapons - both nuclear and conventional - he said Russian Federation is developing that will render USA missile defenses "ineffective".

"We started to develop new types of strategic arms that do not use ballistic trajectories at all when moving toward a target and, therefore, missile defence systems are useless against them, absolutely pointless", he said.

Saquon Barkley has met with the Denver Broncos at the Combine
The 40-yard dash will be an event to watch as prospects will look to surpass John Ross' record-setting time from a year ago . I doubt anyone in the National Football League is taking one out of the Varsity Blues playbook. "I'm a good learner".

Although Putin said his announcement was meant to get the attention of the United States, he also said he was open to talks with Washington. "This increase in capability is astonishing - boosting the overall killing power of existing USA ballistic missile forces by a factor of roughly three - and it creates exactly what one would expect to see, if a nuclear-armed state were planning to have the capacity to fight and win a nuclear war by disarming enemies with a surprise first strike". We're not surprised, " said Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White following Putin's state of the nation address.

Nearly half of his almost two-hour speech was dedicated to the country's latest weaponry.

Putin said in an interview with NBC News' Megyn Kelly that he can not know whether Russian law was violated and would need to "first see what they've done".

"We know other countries tried to (manufacture the weapons) but presumably they did not succeed", he told local media in the Kaliningrad exclave on the Baltic. They demanded the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad should be held accountable for the use of chemical weapons, attacks on civilians and the humanitarian blockade. The maps had "no relation to specific countries", he said. Some have already interpreted it as an official declaration of a renewed Cold War.

"The collapse of the Soviet Union", Mr Putin immediately shot back. And in a video, these missiles were shown descending on Tampa Bay, the headquarters of the U.S. Central Command. "We continue to work for more military predictability and transparency, including in the NATO-Russia Council", she said.
