The area had 450 registered elementary students two years ago and they now attend Tweedsmuir, Fairmont and Princess Elizabeth elementary schools. With the introduction of this program, the district expects to be able to bring back into the district some students now out-placed at special schools and programs.

Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin issued a statement that said "This evening, the Board of Education voted unanimously to support a hard but necessary reorganization of the Hartford Public Schools". Out of all of this, Wilson thinks the school district will see students showing growth on the assessments, but he thinks it will take time.

"I recognize that there can be sticky situations, but it can have massive implications for the district, and it's an unfortunate circumstance that we'll have to deal with", Ziegler said.
