It's running back Adrian Peterson's return to the only city where he's played as a professional before being signed by the Saints.
Minnesota's offense put point on the board throughout the night, adding fuel to the defense that prevented New Orleans from reciprocating. "There was none that I could recall, and I'm being honest", said Payton. With Drew Brees reaching the twilight of his career and the Vikings playing their second full season with Sam Bradford, both teams hope to begin 2017 on the right foot. "It starts with the coaches having a good game plan, and then we have to go out there and execute it on the field". On the ground, Mark Ingram posted 1,043 yards and six touchdows.
Adrian Peterson of the New Orleans Saints watches from the sidelines during the second half of a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium on August 10, 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio. This offseason, they moved on from the future Hall of Fame running back and Peterson joined the Saints.
And A.D. didn't seem all that happy about it at one point, with the TV cameras catching a brief exchange between he and Sean Payton on sideline (though the subject matter was unintelligible).
"He's a great mind", Peterson said. "It felt great competing and getting a 'W'".
The Saints have been relatively cautious with Peterson, who missed most of last season while recovering from surgery to fix a torn meniscus.
Peterson signed his free-agent contract with New Orleans shortly after the National Football League schedule came out, pitting the Saints against Minnesota in Week 1.
According to our schedule adjusted metrics, the Saints were absolutely awful on the defensive side of the ball last season.
The veteran running back managed just 14 yards in the first half, while Diggs had six receptions for 63 yards and two touchdowns. There are blue-chip players at every level, and it showed against the Saints.
I think this is going to prove to be an important move, but I don't think it should be the most important. Moss is second to former teammate Cris Carter in receptions (587), receiving yards (9,316) and receiving touchdowns (92) from his eight seasons in Minnesota.
NOTES: New Orleans RT Zach Strief left the game in the second quarter with a leg injury and didn't return. Now it's time to see if he can maintain this level of play all season. But Dalvin Cook and Pat Elflein didn't look anything like rookies in their impressive debuts against the New Orleans Saints.
Karolina Pliskova to lose No.1 ranking
Donald: Top seed Pliskova played like it in the Round of 16, destroying American Jennifer Brady. "But anyway, I got my chances". Much, much earlier, Carreno Busta of Spain had no trouble beating No 29 Diego Schwartzman of Argentina 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

It's not the ideal spot for a freshman quarterback to make his first start, but that's what lies ahead for Jake Fromm of Georgia. Baker Mayfield didn't need to whomp the hell out of Ohio State on Saturday to convince anybody that he's a star.
