"Sometimes I feel like they fear it but they just don't want to show it, don't want to express it", Martinez said.
Diplomatic efforts are also deeply complicated. "We know that any moment, they could send those (weapons). but I think a lot of us in the end are not too anxious".
To prevent nuclear attacks from elsewhere, namely Russian Federation and China, the United States has relied on its potent nuclear arsenal. North Korea, too, must stop unnecessary provocations once and for all.
Guam's Homeland Security Adviser George Charfauros said Friday it would take 14 minutes for a missile fired from North Korea to reach Guam. But few analysts are confident he would be restrained. That means they sense the increasing likelihood of an armed conflict between the United States and North Korea.

"Everyone is going about doing the same routine, but everyone is talking about the threat", Josie Sokala, who lives in the village of Mangilao on the eastern shore of Guam, said in a message. "He wants to be on the world scene".
