04 August 2017, 09:51 | Santos West
President Donald Trump promised a big announcement Thursday night at his campaign-style rally in West Virginia.
"Today I tell you I can't help you anymore being a Democratic governor", Justice said.
"Governor Justice's party switch is another blow to a Democratic Party that would rather obstruct than work to make our country great again", Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel said in a statement following the announcement.
Justice made headlines by refusing to endorse Clinton during the 2016 election.
The governor praised President Trump and his family, reports the Daily Mail. A man with a "Trump Pence Regime Must Be Stopped" sign was tackled to the floor and later escorted out as Justice pressed on. "He's got a backbone".
Carrying a sign that read simply "West Virginia Not for Haters", Sally Roberts-Wilson-a resident of Charleston, West Virginia-told the local Register-Herald, "I'm here today to stand up against hatred, to stand up against intolerance, to stand up for rights and kindness that West Virginians have historically shown one another". Justice's mining companies owe $15 million in unpaid taxes in six states, as NPR reported previous year, accruing much criticism from then-fellow Democrats.
The last high-profile party-switch - Pennsylvania Sen. He largely funded his own campaign against then-West Virginia Republican Senate President Bill Cole. That wasn't the case here. Three percent growth. West Virginia is leading the average.

But more importantly, its forecast for the current September quarter - when the next, big iPhone launch is expected - is strong. Service revenues , which cover everything from the App Store to Apple Pay, reached a record $7.3 billion (up from $6 billion).
"Many of his agenda items have been smaller government, lower taxes, lower regulations, and so we're pleased that he's seen fit to join the party", Republican Senate President Mitch Carmichael said before the announcement Thursday.
"We are very cognizant of the fact that we have criticized him greatly in the past for his various policy positions and the way he has conducted his businesses", Lucas told NPR. "We look forward to Gov. Justice living up the principles we have championed her for 154 years". At a Huntington rally with almost ten thousand Trump supporters, Justice buttered up the president: "This man is a good man.
"Democrat lawmakers can decide, they can continue their obsession with the Russian hoax, or they can serve the interests of the American people", Trump said. The Republican Governors Association has announced a new super PAC aimed at taking Manchin's seat and instilling Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. "I was hearing rumors that there were a couple of instances I heard he was going to do it at different events".
But national Republicans cheered the move.
"Having Big Jim as a Republican is such an honor", he said. Justice has also "identified as a Republican and an independent in the past". "Jim Justice's past differences with our party and our party's platform came while he was a Democrat". Remember, this is a governor who proposed $500 million in new taxes during the last legislative session and got into some personal battles with them. "The debts have only worsened during Justice's term as governor. These are very basic principles in the Republican party and I would hope that. he will embrace those principles and we can work together".
2018 features numerous Senate matchups where Democrat incumbents in red and purple states which Trump carried, are up for re-election.
