Judiciary member warns president on special counsel, attorney general

30 July 2017, 09:54 | Christie Tate

Corey Lewandowski appeared on Good Morning America Wednesday to let George Stephanopoulos know that if President Donald Trump wanted to fire the special prosecutor investigating his campaign ties to Russian Federation, "he has a legal authority to do so".

They've been enjoying the spectacle, though, as Trump strikes at the heart of his Southern support.

Yet, Donald Trump has taken to what is known as "Tweet-Shaming" Sessions just about every day on Twitter. But Republicans have also shown no appetite for impeachment proceedings to replace Mr Trump with Vice-President Mike Pence, and it is an open question what it would take to change that.

It doesn't work so well when people on both sides keep acting irrationally. "He crossed a line with Sessions". "Otherwise, I'll say, 'Tom, you're fired'".

What became known as the "Saturday Night Massacre" quickly eroded Nixon's support among elected Republicans. Sen. "It's the average Joe Q Public calling in". Especially interesting is the fact that the White House team believes they can continue to make obvious gestures toward obstructing justice as if there is no criminal investigation on the President.

"I told him we were thinking about him and that he had a lot of friends up here", Sen.

President Donald Trump on Thursday cited "big progress" on ridding the US of MS-13 gang members, a policy being worked on by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom Trump has criticized in recent days. Sessions says he has no plans to resign.

Trump's administration could have been a George W. Bush administration. "He looks out for the little guy".

Now, however, I am a huge Jeff Sessions fan. "I would really hate to see something bad happen to him, after all he's done". Lawmakers have expressed frustration that the upheaval in the White House is distracting from their legislative agenda.

Sessions' former colleagues in the Senate denounced the president's broadsides against the first senator to endorse him. "He has helped a lot of people".

USA orders Venezuela embassy families out, crisis deepens
Hundreds of Maduro's supporters marched in the streets Thursday on the final day of the election campaign. Among the candidates wanting to sit on the new assembly is Maduro's wife, Cilia Flores.

A third Sessions' ally said an article published by the right-wing website Breitbart on Tuesday painting Trump as "weak" for criticizing a man who is tough on immigration was significant. "But it doesn't sit well".

Trump faces the same problem.

So does odd think Sessions should lose his job?

Not all Trump fans are anxious about Sessions. "Worry about making the country better by putting forth the legislation he said he was going to do". It is an Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn, where the most colorful eggs are likely to be the tax returns and the financial records of Trump, who built a real estate empire in a town where winners brag about how they gutted the losers. Trump is straight up.

Ironically, one thing protecting Sessions is that he is more Trumpian than Trump. "But I hope we do not come to that".

He also met members of an global anti-gang task force at an event where an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent described MS-13 as a highly coordinated and well-organized gang whose imprisoned leaders order violence in the US from their prisons in El Salvador. Richard Shelby of Alabama.

If Trump fires Mueller, he will also have reached an all-time low from which he may not be able to recover.

Sessions is "more than just pretty popular", Byrne said in a phone interview. Dismissing a special counsel would require a judicial review to determine if reasons behind the firing "meet the statutory definitions", Graham said. She reiterated that the department would prosecute leak cases when possible and move to put leakers in prison.

Whatever the political implications for Trump, some Alabamians are trying to get Sessions home. None of the other Republican contenders followed suit.

No evidence has been found that any state's election system was hacked. He had bowed out of any involvement in that probe after acknowledged meeting with Russia's ambassador during the campaign. He demanded Comey's loyalty and when he didn't get it, he fired him, which he thought would relieve the "pressure" he felt.
