'Game of Thrones': Nymeria & Arya Recap & Spoilers

29 July 2017, 03:55 | Santos West

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 2 preview: Arya in … Winterfell?

Jon Snow and Ser Davos depart Winterfell in Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 2

But the most interesting transformation has occurred in the Stark women, and this new Game of Thrones fan theory about Arya and Sansa is pointing to the ideal culmination of their growth. Nymeria has her own pack, Arya has her revenge to carry out.

Boy, did this episode prove us wrong. A enormous wolf against the Night King and a horde of ice zombies could be the apex of Thrones fan service. She does not want to be "queen of the ashes". It may dramatically alter the very way in which she thinks and moves. We have to say the moment Euron crashed down onto the boat was a pretty epic one, and maybe now we know what his present to Cersei will be: Ellaria, a.k.a. the woman who killed Cersei's daughter. Dany now has no navy, and possibly, no siege-friendly soldiers.

As for Tyrion or Jaime Lannister?

In this week's episode, Stormborn, Arya changed her mission to head to her Winterfell home, after finding out from her friend Hot Pie that her sibling Jon Snow is still alive and king of the North. With Sansa now ruling in Jon's absence, fans are concerned that she's going to be manipulated yet again and ruin everything in Winterfell, especially with Littlefinger still around and showing no signs of backing down.

Back in King's Landing, Cersei is dabbling with dragon killing devices, while Jaime marshals supporters for his army. But if the "Prince that Was Promised" can also be a princess, because why not, and the guy who insists that the name Tarly means something also named his son "Dickon", and nobody seems to laugh at him for it, then what's in a name?

It's been a long time since we've seen Nymeria on Game of Thrones.

All-New Rolls-Royce Phantom unveiled
Unless you are an avid follower of Rolls-Royce, you might not immediately recognize that this is an entirely redesigned model. Inside, the "Gallery" is Rolls-Royce's term for "a reinterpretation of a motor car's dashboard and instrument panel area".

At the end of Game of Thrones season 6, all looked about as rosy as could be expected for House Stark. Nymeria don't/won't follow Arya's steps anymore.

She is heading towards Sansa, though it was Jon she was expecting and looking forward to seeing.

In Westeros, the past cuts as deep as Valyrian steel, even when it seems to offer the illusion of comfort. The spunky Arya Stark finally crossed paths once more with her direwolf Nymeria, and the return of the long lost pet had us howling at the moon with excitement.

"Once the wolf walks away, at first she's heartbroken to have come this close".

Nymeria, Arya's direworf, who last appeared in episode 2 of the series, has been one of the show's most asked-about mysteries. As one Redditor points out, the last time he got slammed against a wall, he betrayed the man who did it and watched him die, and there's no guarantee he won't do the exact same thing this time. After all, it was he who gave her over to the Boltons - and there's no way she'll ever forget that.

All this without mentioning the fact that the loyal animal stayed by Jon's side after those mutinous Night's Watch soldiers stabbed their Lord Commander in the chest. Nymeria, like Arya, went off to be her own person, er, wolf.
