Samsung Galaxy S8 Active: "4000mAh Battery, 5" QHD Screen & More

Profit breakdown showed the firm's semiconductor business raked in 8.03 trillion won in operating profit in the second quarter, up 204 percent from the previous year.

Gadgets 360 also notes that Samsung Pay will be heading to the company's mid-range phones.

Although Samsung anticipates a heavy third quarter for smartphone purchases, the company cited unidentified competitors as potential problems for its business.

Analysts predicted Samsung would post another record-breaking profit number in the third quarter.

The company forecasts increased sales of premium flexible OLED panels in the coming quarter due to its new supply to the USA tech giant Apple' iPhone 8 although the competition with Chinese rivals remains.

Coming to specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC depending on the market. The Galaxy S8 outsold the Galaxy S7 during the period, Samsung said, although the mobile division did not post record sales because of a decrease in mid-range and entry-level phone sales.

Apple's and Samsung's flagships for this year won't come cheap.

Britain To Ban Fuel-Powered Vehicles in 2040
The Times newspaper said the supply of hybrid vehicles , which have an electric and petrol or diesel engine, would also end. This is one element of the government's £3 billion program to clean up the air and reduce vehicle emissions, said Gove.

Samsung has recovered nicely from last year's phone debacle.

Samsung Electronics has reported an all-time high quarterly profit, thanks to booming demand for memory chips. "So Samsung's massive profits this past quarter may already reflect some of the heightened competitive environment it expects to see in the fall". Eventually, the smartphone was first released in Japan.

One distinct advantage the company has in the mobile sector is its dominance in the smartphone OLED screen market, in which it has a 90% market share.

Manufacturers are packing more and more memory storage capacity into ever smaller mobile gadgets, as increased use of mobile applications, connected devices and cloud computing services drive up demand and consequently prices for memory chips, an area dominated by Samsung.

"Samsung is under huge pressure in the mid-tier from the Chinese players", said Canalys research analyst Ishan Dutt, in a statement, "It needs to use its brand to make its mid-tier devices more desirable".

All we know for sure right now is that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23rd in NY.
