Meg Whitman steps down from HP Inc. board, names Chip Bergh

Hewlett Packard Enterprise President and CEO Meg Whitman is interviewed

She is not going in there because she is interviewing for a job.

The ride-hailing company's five-member search committee has had active discussions with Mr. Immelt, this person said. "When your company scales that quickly, it's hard", reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

The company's largest shareholders reportedly pressed for Kalanick to quit through a letter calling for him to step down, Reuters reported.

Dion Weisler, who is HP's CEO, will continue in his role.

In a series of tweets, Whitman reiterated her commitments to HPE and said she didn't plan to move.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Meg Whitman wants everyone to know that's not going to Uber. She has been meeting with Uber's leadership in recent weeks, two people familiar with the matter said earlier this week. So on Thursday evening, she took to Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) to once and for all kill the Uber rumor, which has turned into a "distraction".

The charges against Vinnik are still sealed, and are likely to remain sealed as prosecutors attempt to extradite him to the US. He also stated that the future of BTC-e exchange is uncertain and user funds may be never returned.

Meg Whitman has resigned as chairman of HP's board. I think he's a phenomenal leader; Uber is ridiculously interesting. Bloomberg sources told the publication that he is on the shortlist too.

The Journal noted that Immelt will be leaving his post as CEO of GE at the end of July but will retain his role as chairman until the end of 2017.

Still, Uber has the potential to become a once-in-a-generation business. Bloomberg News reports that she has been with the beleaguered company recently.

Immelt is believed to be one of several experienced executives that Uber has spoken to about replacing disgraced former CEO Travis Kalanick. "That is not a conversation she has had with Uber".

Speaking at the Annual Stanford Directors' College, Mayer said: "I count Travis as one of my friends".

At this point, after months of scandals, I think a lot of Uber employees are just ready for a live, human CEO to guide them out of the wilderness.
