Trump tweets about pardons, Sessions, leaks

Russian ambassador to the United States Sergei Kislyak a prominent figure in the controversy over Russia’s possible involvement in the 2016 U.S. presidential election has ended his assignment in Washington

And he is not from Baltimore. In addition, no USA officials had taken any issue with it until now.

According to that report, then-Senator Jeff Sessions discussed electoral and policy issues with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak on at least two occasions while serving as a top foreign policy advisor to the Trump presidential campaign. This past week, the Special Counsel expanded his investigation to include Trump's business transactions with Russians and also those of his associates. Trump Jr. later released email exchanges concerning the meeting on Twitter, after learning that The New York Times was about to publish them.

It would, however, be a politically unprecedented act, as no previous president has ever directly fired their attorney general. The subjects of his ire varied but the primary target was the Washington Post exclusive about Jeff Sessions' meeting with the Russian ambassador. By the way, I would say, I don't - I don't - I mean, it's possible there's a condo or something, so, you know, I sell a lot of condo units, and somebody from Russian Federation buys a condo, who knows?

I disagree with those who have called on Sessions to quit. So, he's from Baltimore.

Still, Mr. Sessions' law-and-order approach to his job - errant reinstatement of civil asset forfeiture aside - eclipses these perceived personal wrongs against the president. And the FBI has strict rules to protect its investigations from political interference, from the president or anyone else. "In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled - sometimes in vain - to obtain records".

Rosenstein did, in fact, write a two-and-a-half page memo that laid out a case for Comey's removal, citing Comey's "handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary [Hillary] Clinton's emails".

With everything going on in the White House, the media must maintain relentless pressure on the Trump administration.

Sessions has denied discussing campaign issues with Russian officials and has said he only met Kislyak in his role of USA senator. A special counsel appointed by Rosenstein is now examining the matter. Mueller is investigating whether those businesses have a relationship with Russians and if those relationships go beyond business.

In 2005, George W. Bush appointed Rosenstein to serve as the US attorney for the district of Maryland. He later took a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit after becoming a resident of Maryland. Like Rosenstein, Carson did not come from the city and was born in Detroit, Michigan.

That's a stunning vote of not-much-confidence from Trump in a man who was one of his top surrogates during the 2016 campaign and one of his fiercest defenders in the early days of the presidency.

But a 2011 profile of Rosenstein in the Washington Post noted, "Colleagues say he keeps his politics out of the office".

"The effort to delegitimize the press and the media ... is something that we should not ever allow", said Brennan, who headed the Central Intelligence Agency under President Obama.

Investigations that do not "follow the money" generally do not get very far.
