Conway'No nexus between Russia and election outcome

CNN later posted a video on Twitter noting that Conway dodged Camerota's question about Trump's response to Russian interference seven times during the interview.

Camerota's question about Russian meddling in the US election was met with Conway's denial that there was any evidence to support the narrative during CNN's "New Day" on Friday.

"Well, Alisyn, the President has said previously, and he stands by that, particularly as President-elect, that he would be concerned about anybody interfering in our democracy", Conway said. "We know that Donald Trump won fairly and squarely 306 electoral votes - it had nothing to do with interference".

Camerota, the host of "New Day", began the 20-minute interview by asking Conway about the White House's response to a bombshell new Washington Post report detailing the most conclusive public evidence so far of Russian President Vladimir Putin's role in the election meddling. Camerota asked again, still in search of an answer.

Conway pointed to recent testimony by former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about how the Democratic National Committee refused his agency's help in securing their computer networks.

Conway went on to continue, but Camerota interrupted her once again and said, "Such as?"

Confederations Cup 2017: Germany's 'dangerous' Timo Werner eyes title glory
The drama came on a landmark day for Joachim Loew, who celebrated his 100th win as Germany head coach in his 150th game in charge. He maintained his impressive record of steering the national team to the semi-finals of every tournament over the last decade.

At one point during the interview, Conway said Trump's doubters were "interfering with our democracy" and appeared to liken them to Russian officials' reported influence in the US election.

"Alisyn, I realize we just like to say the word "Russia, Russia" to mislead the voters", Conway replied.

Following the interview, CNN tweeted a video compilation of what they described as "the 7 times Kellyanne Conway avoids questions about what Trump is doing about Russian interference in United States elections".

Clearly triggered, Camerota exclaimed halfway through Conway's remarks, "Kellyanne!"

For Conway to suggest that any Americans who questioned Trump's chances of winning the election is in any way comparable to what the Russian government did is a despicable assault on Americans. As the scandal involving Russian Federation heats up, Presidential Counsel #Kellyanne Conway is having a hard to defending the president.

There is an overwhelming consensus among intelligence officials that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election, but the White House has refused to say whether Trump believes that's true.
