Crowd catches girl who falls from theme park ride

26 June 2017, 11:35 | Doyle Barker

Now even though the unidentified girl hit a tree branch on the way down, she was not seriously injured and is in stable condition at the Albany Medical Center.

Authorities said the girl was riding the attraction with a child relative and fell about 25 feet from a stationary two-person vehicle.

The girl's identity has not been released, but according to Time, she's just 14 years old. A crowd gathered, many filming, others calling for help.

"As my dad went down I held her up and passed her along", Winchell said. He said of the rescue effort: "It was just good to see people band together to do what they could do".

While my thoughts go out to the girl who fell, with honest hope she recovers, you're probably visiting LawNewz.com to see whether she has a case. She was treated at the park, then taken to an area hospital.

"It was horrifying. I mean, you know, you could tell this person is helpless".

"No-one wants to put himself underneath a body like that, but I couldn't stand by and watch".

The girl was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital, and luckily, she has no serious injuries.

Howard and his daughter, Leeann Winchell, made their way underneath the gondola auto and called out to the girl, trying to calm her down and reassure her they'd catch her. Moments later, the girl dropped 25 feet, into their arms.

Amazon bringing translation tech to AWS
Now, the company is preparing to make it available through Amazon Web Services, said a source familiar with the matter. Google and Microsoft now sell translation services as part of their cloud offerings.

"Looking at her today knowing she was alright because of me and my daughter, made it worth it", Howard said.

As of now, we don't know why this girl was hanging so precariously from Sky Ride.

The accident happened on the "Sky Ride" at Six Flags Amusement Park, about 90 kilometres north of Albany, New York.

Mr Lent said he thought it took too long for park employees to stop the ride and give help.

Loren Lent, from Glenville, said Sunday that his 10-year-old daughter has been affected by the incident.

Howard had some minor shoulder and rib pain, but said he and his daughter were able to visit the girl today. "She was crying for about a half-hour after".

The park is investigating how the incident occurred and has closed the ride until the investigation is complete.

When asked whether the girl's evacuation from the ride had followed protocol, Wood did not specify but said that all rides have a "standard evacuation plan".
